Archive Research
Would you like someone to research records at Powys Archives or the National Library of Wales because you are unable to visit yourself? Do you require a researcher to photograph or copy a record for you? Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
Cost for archival research at Powys Archives £30 / hour (no additional charge for mileage)
Cost for archival research at the National Library of Wales £35 / hour (no additional charge for mileage)
Cost for research at other archives £30 / hour plus mileage at 45p per mile
Cost of reprographics charged at cost. Varies with archive and document.
Transcription
Are you having difficulty reading the handwriting in old documents? I can provide a line by line transcription for you. For longer documents such as wills or land transactions a quotation can be given after a legible copy has been received.
Cost for transcription of birth, marriage, death and census record £5 per record
Cost for transcription of longer documents £30 / hour
Organisation, Review and Analysis
Have you inherited research from someone else that needs organising before you can make any sense of it? Have you been too busy researching and forgotten to write your findings up properly? Would you like a second opinion on your research and ideas of how to progress? My experience and academic training in the field and knowledge of family history software mean that I can accurately sort and record your information and ascertain any gaps or alternative research strategies that could be followed.
